RIPESS is spurred by ambitions of exchange, synergy and advocacy that underlie participative and transverse management, and innovation dynamics. Beyond a mere declaration of principles, these commitments are an answer to interculturality, value increase and networking of ambitious practices.

RIPESS’s Objectives

Facilitating exchanges, communication and synergy between continents with a view to better coherence of social solidarity economy practices within RIPESS;

Interconnecting social solidarity economy enterprises and networks at national, continental and intercontinental levels.

Contributing to the ideological fight on behalf of the social solidarity economy, particularly by way of advocating and monitoring participative debates aiming at the recognition, increase in value and know-how of social solidarity economy expertise and enterprises.

In the wake of the Lima, Quebec, Dakar meetings, being the supporting force for the 4th international meeting for the globalization of solidarity.
RIPESS’s guiding principles

Openness
RIPESS is an open network to all inclusive practices that consider solidarity to be the basis for the economy, regardless of the terms used to describe them.

Plurality
RIPESS strongly recommends a plural economy in which the market (private economy) and state (public economy) are not the only regulators of development, but in which a social economy is recognized and carried out by a variety of civil society operators.

Diversity
RIPESS encourages cultural diversity in membership around the five continents, but also diversity of social solidarity economy operators so that every aspect is taken into account, including gender equity.

Transverseness
By this principle, RIPESS means to establish links between actors beyond preset limits.

Horizontality
RIPESS recommends horizontal relationships between members by promoting equality and dialogue in the decision-making process in order to ensure a joint accountability and joint management.

Creativeness
RIPESS encourages innovation and originality of conducive ideas, expertise, experiences and practices for the emergence of new concepts and a new creative and critical discourse.

Networking culture
RIPESS supports the networking culture in its operation method, by recommending openness, flexibility, participation and synergy.

Promotion of members
RIPESS promotes visibility of its member by highlighting the value of their social solidarity economy experience.

Cultural intermixing
The strength of RIPESS rests upon its international outreach, which is based on the diversity and cultural wealth of its members. It is a partnership place for various actors who find in their diversities a factor for mutual reinforcement and enrichment.

Exchanging experiences and establishing social links
RIPESS supports mutual learning, because the exchange of knowledge reinforces synergy, exchange of values and solidarity-based commitment and actions.
